Perfect for 2013 Chevy Avalanche

I read about this in the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club website. Fits perfect on my 2013 Black Diamond LTZ Chevy Avalanche, despite that model not being listed in the matching models here on Amazon. However, all Chevy tailgates are built to the same specs. I had read a few things that installation would work but that there would still be some slack in the regular cables. That was not the case with me. One thing that was tricky was that the instructions do not explain that you screw in the nutsert counterclockwise to begin the installation. I kept using an allen wrench to make the required nine rotations, but was turning clockwise and wondering why it was not staying in place. Once I figured this out, the rest of the installation took literally 3 minutes. The first few times I tried it, the gate was slower, but still fell a bit harder than I thought it would be. But once the hydraulic arm is installed and is idle for a bit, it lowers the gate really slowly. Perfect for when your hands are full and you want to flip open the latch with your fingers and let the back gate gently, quietly, and slowly lower into an open position. Best and easiest truck mod.

Totally Worth It!!

After nearly having my head caved in by a friend opening the tailgate on my 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500 while I was hooking a strap to the hitch assembly, thought I'd order this because I like the brain cells to stay in my cranium!
Seriously, this was fairly easy to install and it works quite well. People don't realize how heavy the tailgate is, I'm surprised auto manufacturers don't include this as a standard safety item. I definitely recommend this product!!

So far perfect!!!

Just installed this on my 2012 Chevy Avalanche and it works perfect.
I checked on forums and confirmed this was the correct model number for my truck. Glad I did! this lines up with all the holes and installs in less than 15 minutes!!
Tailgate now drops slowly and in control. Couldn't ask for anything more.
All the parts were included, so maybe the previous comments have been rectified?
I received all the parts needed, including thread lock.
Really, nothing else to say except I actually want to go and drop the tailgate a couple more times!!
Worth the price, only 30 bucks? No brainer.
