Would get 5 stars except for the poor instructions. Great product, good price. Here is how to install....
Read step one of the instructions and make the head of the allen screw 3/4" from the nut....then insert the gold colored end into the correct tailgate hole as far as it will go...NOW....DO NOT DO WHAT THE INSTRUCTIONS SAY....INSTEAD....hold the allen screw in place with the correct fitting wrench, THEN TURN THE HEX SCREW NEXT TO THE WASHER (tighten it, towards the tailgate)..DONT TURN THE ALLEN HEAD. Keep turning until it fits tight (even tho they say '9' turns and no more....mine took 12). Tug on the bolt and if the washer against the tailgate is firmly in place and doesnt have any slack, LOOSEN THE NUT AND REMOVE THE ALLEN SCREW. There you have it. The rest is a piece of cake if you follow the directions.

now my 2013 F150 tailgate is complete.

the tailgate does weigh a ton. I have installed a master lock and this both from Amazon. The directions were not that good. I used the comments from a few other users to get it installed correctly. After the install it worked like the ads. Nice. Again 5 star product with a 3 start install guide. Also the Nut-insert thing could be improved. Overall if you have a newer truck that has back up camera, man step, etc. you need this.

Installed on a 2013 Ford F-150 Ecoboost. One of the coolest add-ons I've done. Easy to install and works unbelievably well. Pull the tailgate handle and let go, this will lower the tailgate slowly each time. If you need to disconnect it, just pull either end off of the swivel and you're all set.
